I have been wanting to start a blog for quite some time now but have always found that I’ve been way too busy. Suddenly a few weeks ago I was presented with a wonderful opportunity to take some time off work. Life doesn’t always go the way we envision but that doesn’t mean that new exciting things aren’t waiting for us!
Well, you may be wondering who on earth is the person behind this blog? I’m Finnish, almost 40 years old, married to my high school sweetheart and we have two children – our son is in the 5th grade and daughter has already graduated from high school and is enjoying a gap year. We live in Southern Finland, quite near Helsinki.
In time, you may find that I’m not your typical Finn. The reason behind that is that I spent a great deal of my childhood living in the wonderful city of Kuala Lumpur.
My Malaysian childhood has left me with a wanderlust heart which causes bouts of irreversible longing for travel to any destination near or far… those who have the bug know what I mean.
Like a true Malaysian, I also love food. You could say I’m a foodie. I am always on the lookout for new restaurants and recipes. I will spare you the photos of my homemade cooking though!
Two years ago we bought our first boat – a day cruiser. So once summer comes, I will be posting about the trips we make in the nearby archipelago. It’s truly beautiful!
I am also a bookworm and can’t get enough of my Kindle.
Stay tuned for tips on Hamburg shortly!
Lovely post again! And by the way – you look about 25! 😀

Excellent start. Congratulations! Well, who is typical Finn? I think that we all are individuals with experience of life – more or less.
Have a great day!
