Wabasso Beach Park is located in Indian River County, Florida. It’s a narrow town beach. You will find lifeguards, restrooms, picnic tables, showers and free parking there. Do go early, as the parking is limited.
I’ve noticed that Florida beaches don’t tend to have changing rooms, so if you need to change into your swimming gear – be prepared to do it in the restrooms.
Walking on the beach is a great way to pass the time and here you can walk either way from Wabasso and the beach will just go on and on.
You may find that it’s not the most attractive beach because of all the seagrass washed to shore.
It’s right next to Disney’s Vero Beach resort and the beach looked similar there too.

The big waves seem to attract surfers.
And bodyboarders.
Families too.
They say that you may find treasures buried in the sand as fleet sunk near these shores and the coins (and other treasures!) scattered around for miles. If you wish to find something, you will need a metal detector like the one this guy has.
All in all, Wabasso Beach Park is a great place to relax and enjoy the Florida sunshine!
Here’s where it’s at:
