New things on the blog

I started Destination: everywhere three months ago. I threw myself into writing posts and photographing for the blog with the enthusiasm I have for everything I feel passionate about. I even went on a photography course! But I have to admit that the course left me more confused than ever, so mastering and understanding photography still needs a lot of work on my part.

Playa de las Americas, Tenerife

So far, this blog has been a lot of fun! I’ve already published over 50 posts! I am happy to say I have followers too, for even though this is a hobby – for me – it’s the followers, likers and commentors who make blogging worthwhile. I’ve also found many interesting new blogs to follow myself which I enjoy reading immensely.

From next week onwards, I will be posting five times a week – Monday to Friday. Not every post will be about travel – because let’s face it – I’m not a globetrotter adventuring around the world backpacking for months on end (even though I secretly wish I was), so I won’t be able to have five posts a week on travel alone.

On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays I will be blogging mainly on topics related to travel and restaurants. From Finland and around.

On Wednesdays I will take part in the Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge.

And – what I’m most excited about – on Fridays, my plan is to write a post called “Weekly Favourites” which I am blatantly copying from a blog I enjoy – Noora & Noora (in Finnish). On Friday’s the two Noora’s write a recap of their week called Friday’s Favourites and it’s the post I most look forward to each week.

So, on Weekly Favourites I will recap all (okay maybe not all!) the best things from the past week. Life is not always dancing on roses but there are many positive things out there. I want to appreciate them by sharing those moments/things with you and maybe give you ideas too.

Los Cristianos, Tenerife

Let’s see how it this fits into my blog. Will I really have time to post five times a week? Or even have enough topics to write about? Will I be able to find positive things about each week worth sharing? I figure it’s best to just try it out first, since there’s no way to know otherwise.

I would love to hear feedback from you. A huge thank you for reading and following along!

  1. Good luck. I am reading you (though I need to catch up on your latest posts at weekend) and I like what you are doing 🙂 I keep my fingers crossed for you to follow your plan.

    1. Thank you for your question and encouragement Stuart! Well I started from the point where all I knew about photography was “point and shoot”, so you can imagine that in the end of the weekend course I was so mixed up about all the different modes my camera has, then ISO, aperture and so on thrown in.. yikes! For me it was too much info at once. I am now going to concentrate on one thing and try out stuff and start from there 🙂

      1. Good idea …. go out and shoot a scene just varying one thing ….. ISO, aperture, shutter speed and see what these do in your final image. The more you shoot you will get a feel for these and their interdependencies so you can then be more creative under varying light conditions. Sounds like your photo course was a bit intense for someone starting.
