On our second day of our boat rental in Cape Coral we decided to visit a waterfront restaurant. We chose Matanzas on the Bay because it had been recommended to us and the docking looked very simple.
On the way there we saw a pirate ship.
And also an abandoned sailing boat on it’s side.
We arrived at the restaurant early, so there was still plenty of room at the dock. You can also go there by car, so no fear if you don’t have a boat.
Such a cute idea to put Christmas decorations on palm trees.
More boats coming along!
The best thing about these kinds of restaurants is being able to dine outside.
It was really nice sitting on the terrace and gazing at the boats going by.
I had the Spinach and Strawberry Salad with goat cheese, red onion and walnuts. There was poppy seed vinaigrette dressing on the side. This combination was so good, I really have to make it at home. The only problem with this salad was that it was too small.
My husband had Petey’s Fish Sandwich with blackened fish, lettuce, red onions and tomatoes. It’s a pity I don’t have a photo of it, as apparently it was delicious.
You will have to make do with a photo of my Key Lime cocktail. This was super refreshing and one of the best cocktails I had in Florida.
Have you been to Matanzas? Or do you have other waterfront restaurant recommendations in Ft. Myers or Cape Coral?
xx
