Fredrikinkatu is a really happening street these days full of new restaurants – especially if you take the effort to walk futher on from Kamppi.
My girlfriends and I decided to try out one of these – Soil Wine Room – one evening after work. The restaurant just celebrated its’ one year anniversary in February.
The restaurant is very small, so I suggest you book a table in advance.
It’s very cosy inside and the service is considerate and friendly.
The menu consists of different tapas which you can share with your friends. It’s suggested that you order at least three different dishes per person. I suggest the same. We ordered less and as the portions are quite small, we could’ve done with a few more.
The wines and tapas are lovely. It’s a great place to sit down with your friends, catch up and just enjoy.
A pleasant surprise – the kitchen is open till 11 pm. Helsinki really is lacking in that section, so this is great news.
Soil Wine Room is open Tues-Fri from 16-23 and Saturdays from 14-23 pm. It is closed Sundays and Mondays.

Are you a fan of tapas?
xx
I mostly have tapas in Spain, like now for lunch in Mallorca, but I think it’s ideal for an informal get together with friends when you don’t want a proper meal. I don’t care for La Tasca, the U.K. tapas bar chain though as they always serve all the dishes at the same time and then they go cold before you have time to eat them!

I know what you mean, at this restaurant they didn’t bring everything at once and it was a good way to do it. I bet the tapas in Mallorca is superb, enjoy 😊
