These statues can be found inside the Nordea bank’s office in Helsinki. I featured the front door of the building, on the Thursday Doors linkup a while back.
The statue of the man and the woman is called Jälleenrakentajat – which could be translated as the “rebuilders”. The man is holing an axe and the lady grains.
I found three more statues inside as can be seen here.
Saturday Statues is a weekly feature where bloggers from around the world can share the interesting statues they have stumbled upon. Please join me by sharing your own Saturday Statues post via the link-up button. Make sure you share the exact post, not your homepage! The linkup is open from Saturday morning to Monday evening Central European Time. If you share your posts on Twitter and Instagram remember to use the #saturdaystatues hashtag! It would also be a nice touch to visit some of the posts shared by others.
Edit: OMG! I’m so sorry – how embarrassing, the Link to the linkup had disappeared. For some reason when I added it, it didn’t work but it should now. This time the linkup is extended to Tuesday evening because of the struggles:
xx
I added a contribution to Saturday Statues but not sure how to use the link feature. I did include a link to your blog in my post. If it is too late for this week, you can include it in next Saturday’s post. The URL is https://amoralegria.com/2016/06/27/saturday-statues-st-louis/. (Copy and paste.)

Good morning! I added your link but with my email address as I don’t know yours 🙂 Thank you so much for taking part! If you want to try adding your link next time, then you just press the button with the frog in the post! It takes you to the linkup and you can see others links and then add your own – you just need the URL and your email and you can choose a photo for your link (out of your own photos). xx

Those statues are made from bronze, aren’t they?

Hi there Bugi! For some reason your comment was stuck in the spam folder. Sorry about that! Yes, I would imagine these are bronze statues but then, I’m not an expert..

I’ll definitely call in to Nordea and take a look, I didn’t realise it was so ornate inside the bank.

Good idea, the ladies will ask you what you’re doing there but just say you’re just having a look 🙂

Thanks for the advice, I’ll ask politely as they may wonder what I’m doing if I use my camera in the bank!
