Wow it’s mid-September already! One of my friends keeps telling me that time goes faster the older you get. I am beginning to think she is right.
On Friday hubby and I went sailing after work. Everything went well till we were almost at our home marina and the motor suddenly died! Hubs managed to get it running again very quickly but such an occurrence is not good news for our motor. So once again our Felicia is out of the game and we are waiting for the mechanic to fix her up. I hope it’s still possible – after all, the motor is 30 years old.
On Saturday I went to Tallinn with my old colleagues. The beginning was a disaster as I overslept! I can’t remember when was the last time that happened, usually I wake up too early. The truth is that I am really exhausted from my new job and I can physically even feel it, so it wasn’t that surprising. The rest of the trip went wonderfully and we had lots of fun sightseeing, eating and shopping – the perfect combination for a Tallinn day trip.
On Sunday hubby and I went to look for new chairs for our kitchen. I was planning on getting black chairs but somehow forgot it in the shop. It’s going to take six weeks for the chairs to be manufactured and sent to us. This means that we will have to make do without chairs for quite a few weeks as there is no way that I’m going to take our old chairs to our new house – they could break any time someone sits on them.
As many of you know, my new office is next to so many great restaurants. I am happy to report that there’s a great Thai restaurant nearby called The Red Koi Thai. Ooh the Massaman tofu is so good! We have tested Naughty Brgr which seems to be loved by many. Nevertheless, I have read many bad reviews about the place, so I was quite apprehensive. I liked the cheeseburger and the sweet potato fries were yummy, so I can recommend you pop by if you are craving a burger!
This week’s sweetest moment was my Goddaughter’s first piano concert. She played two little tunes that lasted around two minutes but it was so cute!
After I was driving home I realized that there was a gorgeous sunset going on and I just had to stop and park the car.
These were taken in Helsinki right by the restaurant Torpanranta.
It’s off the beaten track but to see a sunset like this – it’s worth it!
Oh, and we got the keys to our new house this week on Wednesday. My packing has come to a standstill probably because I’m so exhausted all the time. Not good!! Next week some guys are coming over to see what renovations we need to have done. I love the house but this move feels quite overwhelming. Slowly does it I guess…
Thank you for reading – how has your week been? I would love it if you left me a comment below.

Thanks Kat, soon it’s going to be dark all the time here, so might as well enjoy the amazing sunsets while we can đ đ

During the past few weeks the sunsets have been absolutely gorgeous, love your sunset photos! I was very disappointed with Naughty Brgr. Have you already tried Friends and Burgers on Mikonkatu? Their burgers are a lot better, probably the best in town, and less expensive as well.

Yes I love Friends and Burgers! I was very apprehensive of Naughty Brgr since I don’t know anyone apart from the high fly crowd who likes it. I’d rather have F&B but it’s too far from my office đ

Sunset is so beautiful! You have many things going on, but you are young, so no problem. About the time, at my age, one week consists Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I don’t know where the days have disappeared, and what is after ten years, I hope J will have only Sundays.
Have a peaceful weekend!

Heheh yes, only Sundays, well said đ I do love Fridays though and I’m working on liking Mondays. It’s a good idea to do something fun on a Monday like a movie or coffee with a friend đ

Wow! So many things happening at the same time, and quite big things – new job, move to a new house. No wonder you feel tired! I hope you manage to get some rest along the way. My week has been busy too, mostly catching up with people I haven’t seen for a while and helping a friend to get his papers done for one very formal association. Also, I started a new Finnish class on Thursday after work. It’s been good, but also quite hard as it’s a three hours of work after a work day. But today is Friday, and the mood is high đ Have a nice weekend, Suvi! Thanks for the post đ

Wow Elena, how fabulous that you are going for a Finnish class after work! I did that for Spanish once but it wasn’t very intensive, maybe after things slow down a bit, I could look into some language classes again. Your week sounds great with the catch ups, I love those. Happy weekend, yay for Friday! đ
