It’s time for Cee’s Share Your World challenge again!
1. Why did you start blogging?
I first started blogging in 2009. I was quite addicted to book blogs at the time and wanted to share the books I had read with others. My blog was called Sandals and Snowshoes – haha – the name had nothing to do with books! It was fun for a couple of years till I noticed that writing the reviews became too much of a chore and I’d rather spend the the time I took to prepare a post reading. Last Fall I started blogging because I had some extra time on my hands and it felt like a good time to start again. This time I decided to focus on Finland and travels around the world instead of books. I guess my blog has become a mix-up of things as it definitely is not just a travel blog. Saying that, I hope someone out there decides to visit Finland because of my blog!
2. A piece of clothing you still remember?
My school uniform from Alice Smith School, Kuala Lumpur. It was a gingham green and white dress with frilly short sleeves. The girls still wear it there! The P.E. uniform was a white shirt with your name in green big letters on it and green shorts. My t-shirt was always too tight as I was quite chubby, LOL!
3. Who are you trying to reach with your blog?
I guess anyone who is interested in Finland or simply getting to know someone from Finland. Anyone who loves life! I love to connect with readers from around the world or even from my home country.
4. Is there a stuffed animal in your bedroom?
No. I think I still have some stuffed animals from my childhood but they are in storage. Now that we are moving, it might be a good idea to let them go.
5. The best birthday present ever?
The best thing about birthdays is spending time with my family and eating cake. Boring, sorry! I have got some amazing presents over the years but nothing beats that. Our son was born three days before my birthday – I guess you could say that was an amazing birthday present.
6. What would surprise me about you?
I love knitting. I haven’t had a lot of time for it for quite some time but I enjoy knitting wooly socks. One winter all my friends got new, colorful, handmade socks. Even some friends overseas got wooly packages!
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I am grateful for wonderful colleagues at my new workplace – you can never take that for granted. What I’m looking forward to is getting this move over and done with. I can’t wait to close the door of our rented apartment for good!
I hope you’ve been having a great week! Do head over to Cee’s blog and check out all the fun challenges to be discovered there.
xx
