Share Your World

I’ve been on a short blogging break and I feel so out of touch. I was planning to continue my break but then a post I’d scheduled ages ago was published on Monday, so I guess it was a sign that it’s time to come back! I love Cee’s Share Your World challenge, so I wanted to return to blogging with Cee’s fun questions.

What are you really glad you did yesterday?

I’m really glad I went to the movies. I went to see Bridget Jones’s Baby by myself. I’ve never like the Bridget Jones series but I still had to see this one. I was pleasantly surprised as I found myself giggling and laughing out loud throughout the movie! I guess I was really in the mood for that. Some people don’t like to go to the movies alone but I don’t mind at all. You can’t chat with your friends at movies anyway!

Would you prefer a one floor house or multiple levels?

I think two levels is just great but it’s also the maximum number of levels that I would want. We rented a one floor house in Florida and even thought it wasn’t a huge house in American standards, it was annoying how far the other side of the house was, LOL!

Have you done something you truly want to do today?

Well yes – I went to see another movie! This time Café Society, a Woody Allen movie. I didn’t really have any expectations but it was very entertaining. The movie will leave you feeling all melancholy. Now you must think that all I do is go to the movies but the thing is that my family has been away on a holiday, so I have some free time on my hands. In addition to the movies I’ve cleaned the house and mowed the lawn!

What plans did you have as a teenager that didn’t happen? Are you happy it didn’t work out that way?

Well I wanted to be an au pair but as I met my husband around the time I was sixteen, I felt like I’d rather stay with him. If I’d gone, I’d probably have understood that a career as a kindergarten teacher wasn’t for me and I would’ve studied something else. Still, I’m happy I never tried being an au pair – it seems like an exhausting job.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m writing this on a Monday night, and I am looking forward to the kids coming home from Paris in under one hour. I have to hurry up, as I’m supposed to pick them up from the airport! I am also looking forward to finally getting our sailing boat on the hard on Friday. Keep your fingers crossed that nothing happens and we are able to go through with it. Next year I want the boat up and ready by the beginning of September. From last week I’m grateful that the last of the boxes I was responsible for have been emptied. Our move was utterly exhausting!

All these photos are from Tallinn. The gorgeous cakes are from Kohvik Komeet – my favourite place for something sweet. Make sure you check out their rooftop terrace in summer.

I look forward to getting back on track with blogging. I haven’t even managed to take one photo in two weeks! If you don’t count Instagram that is!

    1. Yes romantic comedy is something I also enjoy but I always have to find someone else than hubby to watch it with me. Sometimes it’s nice to go alone too! Heheh my blog break has been quite stressful, so I cannot say I enjoyed it that much but I’m back with new gusto 😀

  2. Glad you’re back. I very much enjoyed your Tallinn photos. My husband worked there for a while, and I really enjoyed the city. We’d hop over the Baltic (actually hydrofoil = queasy tummy) and visit Helsinki. Your post satisfied some of the longing I’ve had to revisit.

  3. No worries Suvi, I am on my break as well and it takes so long, if I find some new job soon, this might finally change. Anyways, sometimes break is good to gather some ideas. I am actually planning to start some new “segment” on my blog soon. Maybe I will manage to post first one at weekend 🙂

    1. So lovely to read your reply! There’s all these reality shows in Finland about being an au pair, so I think many girls aren’t that enthusiastic about it anymore, LOL 😛 The next time I move, I too would want a condo. Somewhere warm preferably!! Have a great week and thanks for reading ❤ xx

  5. Your photos are beautiful… especially the café ones! 🙂 Living the au pair life right now and while I am so glad I decided to do it this year, it is without a doubt exhausting… but in a good way!
