Thursday Doors

It’s been a while since I took part in Thursday Doors. Probably because the doors I’ve seen around just haven’t been inspiring. One morning walking in Helsinki, I noticed the beauty of old doors once again.

This door looks inviting thanks to the light above it and the plants in front.

Many of the doors in Helsinki tend to have some sort of window, either on the door or above it.

This building had interesting coloring.

The door found there was green.

This one is quite a plain, normal looking door for Helsinki.

Here’s a more modern one.

Wow – I like how the round shapes are also on the walls. This is a door to an art gallery.

By far, this one is my favourite. A round glass window with a webbing above a wooden door.

  1. They’re all good choices. The last one is very different though! Rounded architectural features are always a winner for me, but in this one I also like the upper ‘ribbon’ above the door. It’s that last little detail that seems to say ta-da!! 🙂

    1. Thank you for your lovely comment Joanne! ❤ It's so fun to find amazing doors. Unfortunately it's freezing over here now, so it's not very fun to take off your gloves to snap photos, LOL!

  2. those are some very nice doors!
one of my requirements, when home searching, was that the front door had to have a “peep” door. I didn’t end up with one of the cool, small, “speakeasy” metal ones but I did get a peep door!!

  3. Great post! I absolutely love doors and windows, especially quirky ones! Last weekend in Tallinn I think I took at least a hundred photos of the doors of Tallinn Old Town, so pretty in all possible colours. Love especially the last one of your photos, where is it located?

    1. The last door was somewhere in Töölö, when walking from Kamppi to the Radisson hotel! Tallinn has the most amazing doors I must agree 💕

    1. Ooh sounds lovely! I came home yesterday and my daughter had decorated for Christmas. It’s so lovely. I just hope our tree arrives soon, it’s in Finland at least according to the tracking number 😌
