Join Cee’s Share Your World – it’s now week three into the New Year! Can you guess my height? Read on to find out if I’m tall, short or in-between.
Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
Closed! I could never keep them open, as I would have nightmares. I once read a book where otherworldly people entered our world through a closet. It still freaks me out when I think about it.
Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
I used to but these days I don’t. In Finland many hotels don’t even have shampoos which you could take with you anymore – there’s a shampoo stand in the shower – you know like the ones at swimming pools?! I guess it’s more ecological and saves money too compared to those tiny bottles.
What is your usual bedtime?
I go to bed way too late. Usually at midnight. Which means I get around 6 hours 30 minutes sleep. Which is too little to be honest.
Do you like to use post-it notes?
OMG, I love them! I use post-its all the time. Especially at work. My favourites are hot-pink ones.
When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper?
Goodness, I have no idea. I used to be an avid letter writer when I was young. I still have zillions of the letters I got from my friends from London, Sri Lanka, USA, France, Australia.. I even had pen pals through this program from all over the world. It was always so exciting getting a letter. Looking back – I think I was quite obsessed with letter writing, LOL!
Any phobias?
Snakes. I hate snakes. And I will SCREAM if I see one. Nevertheless, I kind of warmed to a snake when I was working at a place that kept them. But I never got to the point that I would’ve touched it.
How tall are you?
I am a very short person – just 158,5 cm. I have never wished to be taller though, so this is just fine!
What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I am grateful my friend’s Great Gatsby themed party went well – I was one of the organizers. It was a huge let down that the other organizer got sick on the Eve of the party and couldn’t make it! But we still managed to have a party to remember.
I am looking forward to a walk with a friend on Wednesday. I cannot wait to hear her news and walk with a friend in the fresh winter air!
These photos were taken in Helsinki, at the Helsinki City Museum’s courtyard (and around). It’s the They Were Here light installation by Alexander Reichstein. I just adore these sculptures that light up when darkness falls. I hope you enjoyed them and my answers this week!
xx
Thank You for sharing yet another part of your world!

Oh yes, haunting is exactly what they are. They are like ghosts from the past..

I love post-its too (only at work, though!) AND I too had lots of penpals growing up – I wrote loooong letters all the time and with some of them, we even made our own envelopes just to be artsy 😊 It was fun hearing about life around the world. It started with my childhood pals in Australia, from when we lived there, the just grew…

I guess writing a blog has filled the void of all these letters 😉

Short? To me you’re tall so I look up to you. But I like the way fun-sized people fit in every seat in the theatre or airplane. That’s important! And I too loved the photos of the sculptures.

Oh yes, you are right – being short has it’s benefits. Being on a flight is more comfortable when you have leg room. LOL!

Ahmm, pardon me … 158.5 cm is not short, 155 is.
Mind you, I never think of myself as short. I’m the same height as all my work colleagues – when they’re sitting down.
Love the pictures of the light sculptures Suvi!

Hehehe! I must say I never felt short when living in Asia but here in Finland I am! Whatever height, it’s fine as long as the person is happy with it. It can’t be changed after all 😎

I loved reading your answers, Suvi! And omg, snakes are my biggest phobias too. I am just so creeped/grossed out by them! Growing up in Nepal, where snakes are mostly thought to be these dangerous creatures that can kill you (we have a lot of venomous species of snakes in Nepal) and I still kind of have this mindset after many years. I hate anything that resembles a snake even. And I am terrified to even look at them, let alone touch (neverrrr). Those sculptures from Helsinki are amazing!

Oh my goodness, hearing of the snakes in Nepal just freaks me out! We have one poisonous snake in Finland and it’s quite common unfortunately. You can bump into on islands or in the forest. EW!

Just love those light sculptures Suvi. I like being small as well, I couldn’t imagine myself tall!! Also I used to have lots of pen pals from around the world, I’ve met some of them, too and still keep in touch with a few by email now though which, although instant, takes the magic away of a letter dropping through the door.

Wow, I am impressed you still keep in touch with your pen pals! I’m such a lousy emailer but even less a letter writer these days. Isn’t it funny how our children must think writing a letter is the most ancient thing someone might do LOL!
