It’s time for Cee’s Share Your World again!
Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?
No, I just press it once. It has germs all over, so no way I’m pressing it more than needed, LOL! Do you know the button that closes the elevator door once you are inside? My pet peeve used to be that elevators in Finland didn’t have this button. It’s so annoying having to wait for the doors to close by themselves if it’s obvious that no-one else is going to enter the elevator till perhaps the next floor.
Do you plan out things usually or do you do them more spontaneous (for example if you are visiting a big city you don’t know?)
I plan things very much beforehand. For example, for a night out, I’d rather know the restaurants and bars we will go to than decide on the go. I’m extremely obsessive about planning ahead when I travel. That way you get to see more. I like to plan the attractions AND the restaurants and cafés. However, I can change plans if needed, so I’m not rigid like that though.
Describe yourself in at least four uplifting words.
Cheerful, fast-paced, fun-loving and energetic!
If you had a choice which would be your preference salt water beaches, fresh water lakes, ocean cruise, hot tub, ski resort or desert?
Well if I were here in Finland, I’d say fresh water lakes. Finland is the land of a thousand lakes after all! If I go swimming in Finland, I’d rather dip in a lake than the sea, as lake water is warmer. But if I were in the tropics I’d definitely go for salt water beaches. I love swimming so it’s a clear choice in that sense.
A hot tub would be nice too but only in winter. In the darkness.. underneath a starry sky.. I’m not really interested in ocean cruises at all. For me, going on a cruise is just a way of getting somewhere – from Helsinki you can cruise to Stockholm, Tallinn or St. Petersburg. The less time I have to spend on the cruise ship the better – IMHO there’s nothing to do there except eat food that’s not that good.
I don’t like downhill skiing but if my family would want to go to a ski resort, I’d go. I’m not interested in seeing the desert at all – it just seems too dusty and hot!
Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Last week was quite uneventful but I did manage to meet up with one old friend. Unfortunately I was really tired and only lasted a few hours. But we’ll meet again at the end of the month when we go to Tallinn on a day trip with our daughters. The cruise to Tallinn takes two hours.
This week I’m looking forward to the weekend because I haven’t had a proper weekend for two weeks. And it has left me exhausted, so I certainly need it.
All these photos are from Cambridge, when I visited in May 2016. Have a look at the people below – they are really enjoying the greenery – what a cool pose!

Another lovely “Share Your World”!
I have a thing about elevators, too. Don’t touch them anymore than you have to!!!!
I am also a planner – but like I tell me family, I plan like a maniac so that I can relax once the trip/outing is on the way. I am happy to change plans, but one must have a plan to change in the first place, right?

Yes, so true! There must a be a plan in place in order to change it. I too find it more relaxing to have a ready made plan for a trip, then you don’t have to spend time thinking of where to go at the destination. Smart, I’d say, LOL!

I always forget about the “close button”. I don’t take elevators that often any more. 😀

I also like to plan ahead when travelling to optimise the time available but can be flexible when necessary too!

Yes, I guess that’s the key – not to bee to strict about your timetables. Otherwise travel can become quite stressful 🙂
