Time for one of my favourite challenges – Share Your World. It gives you a window into other people’s worlds all over the globe!
What is the most famous landmark or building you have ever seen?
It depends on how you can determine which one is the most famous or iconic. I’ve seen the Eiffel Tower (Paris), The Statue of Liberty (NYC), La Sagrada Familia (Barcelona), The Hagia Sophia (Istanbul), Notre Dame (Paris), Big Ben (London), The Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood (St. Petersburg) and the Petronas Twin Towers (Kuala Lumpur). I still want to see Taj Mahal, The Colosseum, Angkor Wat, the Pyramids and the Great Wall of China!
Do you like long vacation or lots of mini-vacations?
Right now I’m into mini-vacations. Probably because we finally have our dream house and I enjoy spending time at home. Or then the alternative explanation is that I’ve grown old.. A day trip to Tallinn, a one night sail to an island, a weekend getaway to London – all of these sound very appealing.
What is your favorite National or State Park?
There’s so many that I haven’t visited! My dream is to visit the Grand Canyon National Park one day. In Finland I’m happy to visit Nuuksio National Park which is around a half an hour drive from our house. Now looking back, the Pallas-Ylläs National Park in Lapland was cool. At the time I was unable to appreciate it to the fullest because of the swarms of mosquitoes pestering us day and night.. The scenery is so different from Southern Finland. The jungle trails of Bako National Park (Sarawak, Malaysia) were an adventure but what made me sad were the plastic bottles tourists had thrown about the rainforest.
What is your fantasy vacation?
It would be a family holiday for sure. It would most definitely NOT be a cruise. It would be in Asia. I’d never be satisfied with lounging around a beach for weeks on end, so there would have to be a lot to see and do. It could be a tour around Sri Lanka involving jungles, beaches, luxury hotels and a driver. Or it could be in a tour combining the best of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. I would love to rent a villa with a pool at some part of the stay. Of course food would be in a very important role, LOL!
Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Last week I had a five day weekend which was awesome. I wish it were summer holiday already. This week I look forward to finally getting our sailing boat in the water – keep your fingers crossed it happens and it’s not just a fantasy!
All these photos are from the Käppärä Cemetery in Pori, Finland. The cemetery was built in 1884 and it houses Finland’s only mausoleum – Juselius Mausoleum from 1903. Inside are the remains of Sigrid Juselius who died at age 11 of tuberculosis. There are also frescos by the artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela. Photography was forbidden inside, thus the lack of pictures of the art.

Hi Suvi.
Excellent post and very beautiful photos. I love this theme. I answer to this question: “What is your favorite National or State Park?”. It is Yosemite. We have been there twice, but we could go there once more, such an experience. Another place near to San Francisco is Muir Woods National Monument. It is must visit place as Alcatraz also.
In Toronto CNN-tower is an experience as Niagara Falls also. If we think towns, then Las Vegas is my favorite. Our world offers so much to see and experience that our life is too short to see them and due to this, we have to make our own selections. I have been in Japan, Singapore and Thailand, but they do not inspire me, because I do not speak those languages spoken in them. Thus, it is my problem. I could visit once more, been there twice, Penedo, which is known as Little Finland in Brazil, very near to Rio de Janeiro. It is fantastic to see how Brazilians and Finns dance old Finnish folk dances on Saturdays on Club. Swimming in a pool and then visit to Sauna in the tropics is very cool. To meet Santa in the tropics might be possible
If somebody is interesting to know more about Penedo (Little Finland) and do not have possibility to visit Finland, then then they might read about it here at the end of post including videos:
Airing national costumes .
I beg Your pardon for giving this link, but to know more about our world, is worth for it. These are my thoughts concerning Your theme of post. Thank You. Have a good day.
