Are you planning a visit to Kraków, Poland? Not sure what to do there? Well, no worries – you have come to the right place – I will gladly be your guide!
Start the day by having your breakfast in one of the trendy cafés. My brekkie recommendations can be found here.
Visit the Wavel Castle. Make sure you go early, as there are bound to be queues.
Stroll in the historical Old Town.
Take a moment for a photography session at the Main Square.
Walk by the Vistula river. Stop to have a drink on one of the river boats or go on a river cruise.
Take a train and visit Auschwitz. No explanation needed.
Look in a synagogue.
Visit Schindler’s Factory. However, be prepared for a large museum, not just a factory visit.
On the way there, take a look at the Empty Chair’s Memorial at the Ghetto Hero’s Square.
Go out of the city for the Wieliczka Salt Mines.
Hang out at the old Jewish Quarter, Kazimierz.
Make sure you visit the bars there too – the Singer bar being one of the most famous.
Wander in the alleyways and discover places like this.
Don’t miss a candlelight drink at the bohemian bar/café Alchemia.
After all this, you can shop till you drop in one of the modern malls.
Or pop in the smaller shops in Kazimierz for something special.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure you soak in the atmosphere and enjoy gorgeous Kraków. Na zdrowie!
Have you been to Kraków? If so, what did you enjoy most in the city? Let me know in the comments below!

Haven’t been to Poland at all yet, but I wish to say to you cheers in Slovenian since it’s obviously very similar to Polish: Na zdravje!

I was just in Krakow a few weeks ago! Sadly my trip wasn’t as great as yours was. It was pouring rain the whole time we were there. We were denied entrance to Wavel Castle because tickets were sold out. And the tour we purchased to see the sights was disastrous! Krakow is on my ‘must return’ list so I can see the city properly!!! I did, however, make it to Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Schindler Factory (both really, really amazing). Thanks for sharing your ‘must see’ list…I’ll be sure to make note of it when I return to Krakow!!

Oh my, I am sorry your trip was such a disaster!! Rain really can spoil all the fun. Maybe next time you should try to go in late Spring or early Fall 😀 Thank you for sharing!

I went in November and had a blast! I played a couple of escape rooms and found a pinball museum which was pretty cool! I love that alleyway photo, I wish I had done more exploring there!

Nice peek here Suvi, thanks! 🙂 Was it less expensive than good old Helsinki?

It was sooo affordable!!! That’s why we ended up on too much for breakfast, we couldn’t believe the prices 😅

I’ve never been to Poland, but my brother has and loved it. Not sure if he visted Krakow, but he loved Warsaw. Lovely pictures, Suvi! Your travel photos are always a delight.

Thank you so much Britta! Great to hear that your brother enjoyed Poland, although I’m not surprised to hear that ☺️ Warsaw is also wonderful, I have been once and would love to go again. The Old Town there is very picturesque ❤️

Aah. Your pictures remind me of my visit years ago. Unfortunately it was a business trip and I didn’t take pictures. Thanks for sharing Suvi!

That’s the sad part of business trips, often there’s no time for play!
