I’ve been sick for a week now and haven’t left the house for anything but a quick visit to the doctor. It’s been horrible as I can’t remember the last time I’ve been this poorly. But at the same time I’ve had a much needed breather from everything and have been able to catch up on my blog. So here’s my contribution for this week’s Share Your World.
How do you like your eggs?
I don’t really like eggs at all! I’m starting to get used to them though especially after my trip to Tanzania where there really wasn’t anything else to eat at breakfast but eggs and toast. So if I do have eggs, I prefer to make an omelette loaded with tomatoes, cheese and herbs.
Have you ever met anyone famous?
When I was small I met Tina Turner at a book signing in New York. This was for her book I, Tina, so the year must have been 1986. I’ve randomly met Finnish designer Ristomatti Ratia once outside a café in Helsinki, as he was excited to chat with my friend from Malaysia – they shared a love for Manhattan. In Tanzania I met a famous singer called Linex Sunday thanks to one of my girlfriends. He bought us some Kilimanjaro’s and took us to the airport!
What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
I have no recollection of this whatsoever! The first time I earned money was around the age of 13. The job was distributing advertisements in the neighbourhood. It was quite hard work as first you had to sort out all the ads into piles (there were always around 5-10 different ones to be distributed at the same time) and then run around dropping them off in mailboxes. Finnish apartment buildings do not have mailboxes downstairs, so you had to run up and down the stairs dropping each pile of ads to each and every door mail slot! Needless to say, the pay was lousy.
What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?
I’ve been sick all week and still am, so I haven’t really felt that cheery. I guess today I appreciate the fact that my head isn’t splitting in two and that slowly but surely I am getting better.
All these photos were taken in Parco Sempione in Milan, Italy. The English-style park was established in 1888 and the park is the perfect place for a breather.
I hope you are doing better than me! Do take part in this fun weekly challenge with your own post.
xx
Hope you feel better soon Suvi xx
