Thursday Doors – April 11, 2019

On a recent trip to Tallinn, I once again managed to find doors I hadn’t noticed before.

This here is from the Old Guild Hall.

What a grand doorknob!

These rusty doors are actually the doors to a shiny brewery, my favourite Estonian one – Põhjala. You wouldn’t be able to tell from the looks of them. The brewery and restaurant can be found in a newly trending area called Noblessner which is being developed at a rapid pace.

These kinds of doors are quintessentially Estonian. I love them!

This door may look quite boring but the mystery is – where does it lead?

Now this building and door make great contrasts. Great for a photo shoot, for example.

Now this door has some grandeur to it.

Last but not least, doors to a sauna! I have since learned that Kalma Saun was built in 1928 and is one of the oldest saunas in Tallinn. You can rent a sauna for your group or go when rjr women’s or men’s public sauna is open.

  1. I love the spearmint door with the red trim. Glorious to see such colour. I loved Talliin too. Loads of gorgeous doors around in that city. Thanks for the little tour.It brought back memories for me.
