One last look at summer and my favourite island to this day – Jurmo.
Örö was a closed military island from 1915 to 2015. From 2015 onwards the public has been able to access the island by boat or ferry. However, the island has been quite a difficult business venture as so far three different entrepreneurs have tried their hand at it, failing financially each time.
Once again, I found myself abandoning my blog for other exciting activities. I did say that I want to savour summer for all it’s worth but it’s been months since summer ended here!! Summer seems like a long lost memory by now as the leaves transform into bright colors and we are reminded of the long winter ahead. Nevertheless, let’s take some time to remember Finnish summer before the snow kicks in.
At the moment I’m awaiting summer excitedly. The sun has been shining almost everyday, the weather has warmed and I feel much more energetic than during the dark winter.
Hopefully soon we can say that Spring is around the corner. Till then we can reminisce about summers long gone and plan for the upcoming one.
This summer our sailing trip took us to fourteen different harbours. One of my favourites was Sommaröstrand. Take a look and see for yourself!
